Nido del Sol is located in the town of Cuastecomate (Jalisco) in the Mexican Pacific coast at 19° north latitude. The town population is about 20 people, a number that can increase during high season and Mexican holidays to about 100. Geographically, the town is in a small and protected bay.


The area has an average yearly temperature of 85° F.
Nearby towns of Melaque (pop 12,000) and Barra de Navidad (pop 9,000) are located 3 km and 7.5 km eastward, respectively.

Taxi are available upon request (Local phone number: 35-55-201), and is the only means of transportation available from Cuastecomate to nearby towns. The 25 minute walk from Cuastecomate to Melaque is beautiful, especially in the morning, when you will pass many morning walkers. This is a good way to meet local expatriots.
Public transportation between Melaque and Barra de Navidad are readily available and cheap.
